COL has been working with the Botswana Open University College of Open Schooling developing teaching/learning lessons on its Moodle OER platform since 2020 and BOU OS successfully launched the platform on 30 th June 2021. Piloting students were enrolled onto the platform and in 2021/2022 the project has expanded its activities, still with the support of COL under the mentorship of Dr Tony Mays, Education Specialist.

To capacitate e-Tutors with skills necessary for online tutoring and authoring content, Dr Tommie Hamaluba, the project coordinator at the College of Open Schooling, conducted training for the tutors in September 2021. The platform is also being upgraded and will be open to all Commonwealth countries’ secondary schools offering commerce, accounting or office procedures at Junior level in 2022. With their new skills and knowledge gained from the training, the e-tutors are now ready to show their skills from January 2022 when the platform opens up to the public.

For further details on how to use the platform to teach and learn junior secondary commerce, accounting or office procedures, kindly contact Dr Tommie Hamaluba (2nd from left in image above) at email: thamaluba@staff.bou.ac.bw.
