COL is offering a new course which may be of interest to some COMOSA members as indicated in the attached brochure, for a module (as a MOOC) entitled, Engaging Pacific Youth in Their Communities – starting Monday 9 November and running for 5+1 weeks (6th week is summary/catch-up).
It is the first of 6 modules COL will be offering in conjunction with USP/PACFOLD (run on USP Global LMS) and Lakehead University in Canada. This is the product of a workshop conducted in June 2019, with participant inputs from 8 of 9 Pacific Island Nations in the Commonwealth. As youth is a central focus of COL’s work, this first of six modules will present a unique opportunity for youth workers to become more professionalised in their sector. As much as it is focused on the Pacific, there will be relevance to youth workers all over the Commonwealth.
The other five modules we’ll offer in 2021:
1. The Climate Crisis and its Impact on Youth
2. Youth, Rights, Civic Engagement and Political Participation
3. Health & Well-being: Issues for Youth
4. Youth Entrepreneurship
5. Good Governance in Youth Organisations
Note, the origin of the work comes from VUSSC, which is part of a three member Consortium, including The University of the West Indies and ComSec (Commonwealth Higher Education Consortium for Youth Work).
