We can use new technology to replicate old teaching or we can choose to use technology to enable new ways of learning and to co-create new knowledge. It would be good to have even more examples of how our open schooling community is making use of technology.

The “pedagogy wheel” is a useful tool for selecting technology appropriate to learning purpose.

Indeed, the pedagogy wheel is good model that could be applied to everything from curriculum planning, development, writing learning objectives and designing student-centered activities.

Whilst looking daunting at first, it is a nice visual.

The use of technology in education in my institution is still at its infancy but gradually moving in the right direction.

We still use email to send documents and messages to our leaders. We use social media like WhatsApp for teaching and learning. We have now incorporated Facebook, Telegram and Signal.

EDC is assisted by Notesmaster to develop OERS in 9 Junior Secondary subjects funded by COL to be used to expand Open Schooling in Eswatini and increase access to education for out-of-school youth and adults. This is a giant step in the right direction. Notesmaster provides high levels of interactivity provided by H5P.

More teachers should be encouraged to take the TEL MOOCS provided free of charge by COL.

EDC will explore digital microcredentialling and blockchain technologies. These are still new to us.
