The Deputy Minister of Education Arts and Culture commends NAMCOL

The Deputy Minister of Education Arts and Culture Anna Ngipondoka has commended the Namibian College of Open Learning (Namcol) for steering Government’s dream of a knowledge based economy by giving all Namibians an opportunity to acquire qualifications.

She was speaking at the graduation ceremony for the collage which has since grown its enrolment from 15 000 at inception to above 37 000 in the past year. The college which give a second chance to failed pupils from grade 10 and grade twelve to repeat for better marks also targets a 40 000 enrolment for this year.

“…Allow me to commend Namcol on a job well done. As an extension of the ministry of education arts and culture Namcol has the reach and capacity to support national policy architecture which is geared towards achieving the provision of education and training opportunities adults and out of school youth in order to mitigate the effects of colonial education,” she said.
